Emory University sophomore Matt Schner (Boca Raton, FL) has been selected by the University Athletic Association as Men's Basketball Co-Player of the Week following his effort in the Eagles' victory over South Region foe LaGrange College.  Schner shares the honor with Case Western Reserve's Antonio Ionadidi.

The 6-foot-4 Schner topped the squad's scoring attack with a season-high 24 points as the Eagles subdued the Panthers by a 96-87 margin. Matt connected on nine-of-13 field goal attempts, including three-of-five from beyond the arc, and sank three free throws in registering his fifth double-figure scoring performance of the campaign. In addition to his point total, Schner ranked second on the club with a season-high tying nine rebounds.

Through eight games, Schner stands fourth on the team in scoring average (11.3 ppg) and is second in rebounding (6.8 rpg).

Emory, 6-2 on the season, returns to action on Tuesday (Dec. 11) when it hosts Berry College in a 7:00 pm tip.
