Romin Williams Earns NABC & D3hoops.com Honors

Emory University sophomore Romin Williams was recognized for his fine 2018-19 campaign by both the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) and D3hoops.com, earning postseason honors by both entities.

The 5-foot-9 Williams was selected to All-South District Second Team by the NABC and earned a second-team berth the on D3hoops.com All-South Region Team.

A starter in 25 games, Williams helped Emory to an overall record of 20-6 including a first-place mark of 11-3 in the University Athletic Association. He topped the conference with a 17.3 points-per-game scoring average and figured prominently in a number of other categories including second in three-point field goals per game (3.0 tpg), seventh in both assists average (3.4 apg) and free throw percentage (.791, 53-of-67) and 10th in assist/turnover ratio (1.2).  A double-figure scorer on 23 occasions during the campaign, he registered nine outings of 20 or more points.   A First Team All-UAA pick, he ranked as Emory's leading scorer in eight contests.  He knocked down 77 three-point field goals, the program's fourth-highest seasonal mark, and tied the school's single-game record of eight treys twice.

Named the UAA Player of the Week on Feb. 11 after averaging 29.0 points in games vs. Washington University and the University of Chicago, Williams' 450 total points made him the fourth-highest sophomore scorer in school history while ranking 13th overall on the Eagles' seasonal chart.
