Junior Matthew Schner helped the No. 8-ranked Emory men's basketball team to a pair of weekend victories.

The 6-foot-4 Schner averaged 13.5 points, a team-high 9.5 rebounds and 4.0 assists as the Eagles bested Carnegie Mellon and Case Western Reserve. In addition, he shot 73.3 percent (11-of-15) from the field, including 75 percent (3-of-4) from beyond the arc, and converted both of his free throw opportunities.

In a 91-72 verdict over Carnegie Mellon, Schner poured in 17 points, sinking seven field goals in nine tries, grabbed seven boards and dished out five assists. He followed that performance by registering his second double-double of the year, a 10-point, career-high tying 12-rebound afternoon in a 106-70 victory over CWRU. His point total represented the 15th time that he had reached the double-figure plateau this season.
