Junior Matt Schner helped the No. 2-ranked Emory men's basketball team to a pair of wins over South Region foes.

The 6-foot-4 Schner ranked second on the team in scoring (22.0 ppg) and rebounding (7.5 rpg) as the Eagles posted victories over LaGrange College and Piedmont College. In addition, he shot 53.3 percent (16-of-30) from the floor, including 50 percent (6-of-12) from three-point range, and was successful on all six of his free throw attempts.

In a 98-89 decision over LaGrange, Schner notched a double-double, leading all players with a career-high tying 30 points (17 in the second half) while snatching a game-best 12 rebounds. He wound up the game 12-of-21 from the floor, including two-of-five from three-point range, while converting all four of his opportunities from the charity stripe. It represented the third time this year that he ranked as the club's top point producer. He followed that effort by totaling 14 points in a 96-71 verdict over Piedmont, knocking down four three-pointers in seven attempts and going two-for-two at the foul line.

On the season, Schner, who has tallied 10 or more points in all nine games, is tied for second on the team's score sheet in scoring (18.3 ppg) and stands second in rebounding (7.2 rpg).
