Senior (2017):

United Soccer Coaches All-America Third Team…CoSIDA Academic All-America First Team…United Soccer Coaches South Atlantic All-Region First Team…All-University Athletic Association First Team…McCartney following up his career junior season with a tremendous senior campaign…He became the first two-time Academic All-American in program history and the second player in team history to be named a NSCAA/USC All-American and Academic All-American in the same season…He lead the Eagles in goals (13) and points (29) for the second straight season, finishing third among UAA leaders in the former and fourth in the latter…He also topped the team in shot attempts (58), shots on goal (25) and multi-goal games (5)…Emory went 8-0 in games in which he scored a goal with McCartney netted game-winning strikes against Maryville (9/20) and NYU (10/13)…In the First Round of the NCAA Tournament, he led the Eagles past Dickinson with a pair of first half goals…He was named the UAA Offensive Player of the Week for the first time on September 25th.

Junior (2016):

CoSIDA Academic All-America Third Team…NSCAA South Atlantic All-Region Second Team…All-University Athletic Association First Team…McCartney had a career year in 2016, finishing the season with seven goals and seven assists for 21 points in 16 games played…He added 41 shots and 24 shots on goal and tied for the team lead with three game-winning goals…Registered at least one point in 11 of the team’s 16 games, helping the Eagles go 8-2-1 in those contests…Recorded two individual five games streaks with at least one point, the longest such streak(s) on the team during the season…Had a career-high two assists in the season opener against Texas-Tyler on September 3rd…Netted the game-winner in Emory’s 2-0 win over Methodist on September 10th…Scored the game-winner goal in the 72nd minute to help Emory down in-state rival Berry College on September 16th…Assisted on the game-winning goal in the team’s 1-0 win versus Sewanee on September 21st…Scored a career-high five points including the golden goal in Emory’s 3-2 overtime victory at Birmingham-Southern on October 4th.

Sophomore (2015):

McCartney made 16 starts for the second straight season and was one of two Eagles to appear in all 17 games in 2015. He posted two assists for two points. He assisted in Emory’s 2-1 win over Berry College on September 19th. He added another assist in the season finale win over Rochester on November 7th. McCartney was third on the team with 22 shots and registered seven shot on goal. He was third in minutes played for field players and logged a season-high 110 minutes against Carnegie Mellon on October 18th.

Freshman (2014):

McCartney made an immediate impact on the Eagles during his freshman season, leading all of the team’s first-year players with 18 games played and 16 starts.  The midfielder was also the team’s leading freshman scorer with three goals and one assist, and his seven points ranked fourth overall among Emory during the year.  He registered 13 shots, including nine on goal during the campaign.  McCartney scored his first career goal on September 6th against Ohio Northern University.  He added scores in games against Covenant College on September 10th and Hendrix College on September 14th, and assisted on the game-winning goal against the University of the South on September 27th.
