Men's Soccer Extends Win Streak with 3-0 Shutout over SUNY-Maritime

The Emory University Men's Soccer team extended its season-long winning streak to six games on Sunday evening, blanking SUNY-Maritime 3-0 at the Woodruff PE Center.

Three different Eagles found the back of the net as the Eagles earned their 10th 6-0 start in program history and first since 2010. Emory finished the game with a 22-7 lead in shots and held the Privateers to just two shots on net as Emory registered its fourth shutout of the year.

Sophomore Nate Sampson opened the scoring in the 17th minute, putting one past the goalkeeper on the left footed strike from the top of the 18. Senior Moustafa Khattab added to the scoring four minutes later, firing home a free kick from 25 yards out.

Sophomore Patrick McCann recorded his first career goal in the 80th minute for the final Emory tally of the contest, beating the Maritime keeper to the far post on a good strike from just inside the 18 following the pass from junior Jun Tsuru.

Sophomore Cole Gallagher made two saves in the game as he upped his season record to 6-0 and earned his third clean sheet.

The Eagles continues the non-conference slate Wednesday as the team travels to Birmingham, Alabama Wednesday night to face Birmingham-Southern College at 8:00 PM EST.
