Two second half goals lifted the visiting Carnegie Mellon University Tartans to a 2-0 victory over the Emory University Men's Soccer team on a cold and soggy Friday evening in Atlanta, GA.

After an evenly played 70 minutes of action, the Tartans broke a scoreless ballgame as CMU's Ethan Cohen converted on a penalty kick for his seventh goal of the year. Seven minutes later, Jack Painter added to the Tartans lead with an unassisted score for his third goal of the season.

The Eagles held the shots advantage in the contest, 14-13, and had several good chances to cash in the latter part of the first half. In the 23^rd minute, junior William Jones fired a shot to the upper left corner but was denied by a diving stop by Alec Lam. Three minutes later, classmate Jun Tsuru sent a good looking shot to the far post but his shot drifted too far to the right. Junior Corey Levine had perhaps the best scoring opportunity for the Eagles in the 40^th minute as Tsuru sent a long pass that split a pair of Carnegie Mellon defenders and set Levine up with a one-on-one with Lam. Unfortunately, Levine was not able to get a good touch on the ball before converging with the Tartan keeper.

Emory had two corner kicks in the final five minutes and a header shot by senior Tyler Santee go wide in the 88th minute before Carnegie Mellon earned the road win.

The Eagles host 11^th-ranked Case Western Reserve University in the final home game of the season Sunday morning, starting at 11:00 AM. Prior to the start of the match, Emory will honor its five-member senior class of Santee, Aidan Datené, Moustafa Khattab, Michael Stier and Tyler Walsh with a special on-field ceremony.
