Men's Soccer Wins Fourth Straight; Shuts Out Rhodes 3-0

The Emory University men's soccer team ran its winning streak to four games Sunday afternoon, defeating Rhodes College, 3-0, at the Woodruff PE Center in Atlanta, GA.

Freshman Madison Conduah continued his strong play of late, recording another goal for his third in three game, while senior Jun Tsuru and sophomore Will Tichy added to the scoring ledger in the win. The Emory defense was also key in the win, holding the visiting Lynx to without a shot on goal through the 90 minutes as the Eagles picked up their second shutout.

Conduah cracked the scoreboard to give the Eagles the 1-0 advantage in the 36th minute, scoring to the near post following the double assist by sophomores Matt Engler and Ethan Cohen.

A penalty kick goal by Tsuru doubled the Eagles lead in the 54th as Tsuru registered his first goal of his senior campaign.

Tichy rounded out the Emory scorers on the afternoon, flawlessly wrapping a free kick around a five-person wall and tucking it into the near post.

The Eagles finished the match with a 15-8 edge in shots and 7-0 in shots on goal. Emory collected five corner kick opportunities while the Lynx did not receive a corner kick.

Next up for the Eagles will be the University Athletic Association opener on Saturday, October 5th on the road against No.-4 ranked University of Chicago.
