Men's Soccer Announces Incoming Roster Additions

Emory University Men's Soccer Head Coach Cory Greiner has announced the addition of five newcomers to the roster for the 2020-21 academic year. The group of newcomers include sophomore transfer Jack Hudson and first-years Jake Atallah, Carter Hodgson, Alex Mills and Cobi Promislow.

The Eagles finished 9-5-4 overall during the 2019 season and were fifth in the University Athletic Association standings with 2-2-3 conference record. During the first three seasons of the Greinerball era, Emory has posted an overall record of 33-17-8 with a NCAA Elite Eight appearance in 2017.

Jake Atallah – 6-0 – Defender - Marietta, GA (Alan C. Pope)

Prior to Emory: Spent four years playing with the Alan C. Pope soccer program, serving as a team captain for his junior and senior seasons...Appeared in 61 career games, totaling two goals and nine assists...Named 2019 All-County Honorable Mention and 2020 Team Defensive MVP...Played 13 years with the North Atlanta Soccer Association (NASA) soccer club...Was club captain for his final two seasons...Helped team reach ECNL Nationals in 2018...Voted by the region's coaches as one of the top players in the Southeastern ECNL Conference following the 2018-19 season...Graduated from the STEM Academy at Pope (2020)...Received the Georgia Certificate of Merit for being in the top 5% of his class junior year (from UGA in 2019)...National Merit Commended Scholar (2019)...Honor Roll every year (2017-2020).

Carter Hodgson – 5-10 – Defender – Austin, TX (Lake Travis)

Prior to Emory: Played three seasons with the Lake Travis soccer program, serving as a team captain as a senior...Named the Underclassman of the Year and Second Team All-District in 2017...Tabbed as First Team All-District in 2018...Spent eight years as a starter with the Lonestar club team...Helped team to first place in the group and highest level of playoffs in 2019-20...3x Academic All-District selection...National Honor Society collar in 2020...Finished in top 6% of his high school class.

Alex Mills – 6-0 – Forward – Blacksburg, VA (Blacksburg)

Prior to Emory: Was a member of the Blacksburg soccer program from 2016-2020...Totaled 21 goals and 18 assists in three seasons of competition...Named to Second Team All-District and Honorable Mention All-Region as a sophomore...Tabbed to First Team All-District and Second Team All-Region as a junior...Helped Blacksburg to AAAA State Championship in 2018 and were AAA state finialists in 2017 and AAAA state semi-finalists in 2019...Team was ranked #4 in the country in 2018...Played with the VBR Star club team from 2018-2020...Selected to represent Club and League (CCL) at the International Gothia Cup Soccer Tournament (2017)...Named to Region 1 2002 ODP Team in 2017-18 and Virginia 2002 ODP State Team from 2017-19...AP Scholar, National Honor Society and French National Honor Society in 2019...Made School Honor Roll from 2017-2020.

Cobi Promislow – 5-7 – Midfielder – Chapel Hill, NC (Chapel Hill)

Prior to Emory: Played four seasons with the Chapel Hill soccer team, serving as a team captain as a senior...Recorded at least 10 points during his final three seasons, posting back-to-back four goal campaigns as a junior and senior...Tallied a career-high 11 assists as a sophomore...Two-time All-Conference selection as a sophomore and senior...Named All-Region and Coach's Award winner as a senior...Helped Chapel Hill to the state championship in 2017-18 and 2018-19...Helped team to two conference titles in 2017-18 and 2019-20...Played 10 years for Triangle United 01/02 Premier, helping the club to two state cup semifinals...National Honor Society as a junior...Was Co-Valedictorian of his graduating class.

Jack Hudson - 5-11 - Goalkeeper - Atlanta, GA (Henry W. Grady)

Prior to Emory: Spent his freshman year with the University of Kentucky, appearing in one game: a UK victory against Wright State on October 30...Landed on Conference-USA Commissioner Honor Roll, SEC Fall Sports Academic Honor Roll and SEC First-Year Academic Honor Roll...Played high school soccer at Henry W. Grady in Atlanta.
