Men's Soccer Falls at Sewanee, 2-0

Men's Soccer Falls at Sewanee, 2-0

The Emory University men's soccer team fell on the road Wednesday night, dropping a non-conference decision to the Sewanee Tigers in Sewanee, TN. The Tigers improved to 3-1 following the 2-0 result while the Eagles slipped to 1-2-3 on the season.

Sewanee broke a scoreless game in the 37th minute as Austin Miller provided an unassisted goal for his first marker of the year. The Tigers then doubled their lead in the 70th minute when Trevor Reichman pushed one home off the assist from Payton Gridley, marking his second goal of the season.

The Eagles held the advantage in the shot totals despite the 2-0 decision, outshooting Sewanee 12-5. Emory also had four shots on frame while both shots on goal for the Tigers in the contest found the back of the net.

Four different Eagles recorded a shot on goal in the second half including attempts from seniors Will Tichy and Joe Beare in the game's final minutes but were turned away by Sewanee keeper JP Furman.

Emory looks to snap its current skid this weekend when the team travels to Lexington, VA for games against Hampden-Sydney and No. 13 Washington & Lee. Kickoff with HSU Friday is set for 7:00 PM on the campus of W&L.
