Gold Bests Blue, 165-96, in Men's Swimming & Diving Intrasquad Meet

The Emory University Men's Swimming & Diving Gold team bested the Blue squad 165-96 in the team's annual intrasquad meet Friday afternoon at the Madeline June Brown Aquatic Center inside the Woodruff PE Center.

The Gold team collected 11 victories out of the 14 events at the meet with senior Andrew Wilson winning a team-best three individual events.

Wilson earned wins in the 100 and 200 Breast as well as the 200 IM and added a victory in the 200 Medley relay, swimming the second leg. Also part of the winning relay quartet was seniors Mitchell Cooper and Christian Baker and junior Oliver Smith.

Baker had two event wins for the Eagles, touching first in the 200 Butterfly and 500 Freestyle. Also adding event wins for the Emory Gold team were sophomore Thomas Gordon (1,000 Free), freshman Andrew duPont (200 Free), freshman Chandler Vandiford (200 Back) and sophomore Zachary Chen (100 Fly). The Gold team also closed out the meet winning the 400 Freestyle Relay featuring junior Alexander Hardwick, Chen, Baker and Smith.

Tallying event victories on the Blue side was sophomore Trey Kolleck in the 50 and 100 Free and freshman Sage Ono in the 100 Back.

The Eagles return to the pool next Saturday, October 22nd as the team hosts Queen University of Charlotte in the first dual meet of the 2016-17 season.
