Former Emory University swimmer Andrew Wilson closed out the 2018 Pan Pacific Championships in impressive fashion on Sunday, helping the United States capture the Gold Medal in the 4x100 Medley Relay. The Pan Pacs were held at the Tokyo Tatsumi International Swimming Center in Tokyo, Japan.

Wilson swam the breaststroke leg to help USA win gold with a finals times of 3:30.20, edging out Japan (3:30.25) and Australia (3:30.52). The U.S. Medley Relay also featured Ryan Fitzgerald, Caeleb Dressel and Nathan Adrian.

Earlier at the Championships, Wilson added a fourth place finish in the 100m Breaststroke, touching with a time of 59.70 in the finals. In prelims of the event, Wilson posted the top qualifying time in the field at 59.42. The Bethesda, Maryland native also competed in the 200m Breaststroke during the meet, finishing second in the prelims with a time of 2:08.66. Wilson, however, did not compete in the finals as he scratched to focus on the relay event.

With still the open water events to be contested, the United States have claimed 18 Gold Medals at the Pan Pacific Championships and 43 medals total.
