After making history Monday night by becoming the first-ever Division III swimmer to qualify for Team USA at the Olympics, Andrew Wilson ('17) continued his strong showing at the US Olympic Trials on Wednesday, advancing to the finals in the 200m Breaststroke at the CHI Health Center in Omaha, NE.

Wilson was off to a solid start in heat one of two Wednesday night, leading for much of the race including at the third turn with his 1:35.04 split at the 150m mark. However, as the swimmers made their way to the wall, Wilson was overtaken during the home stretch by Nic Fink (2:09.13) to finish second in the heat.

His semifinals time of 2:09.48 was fast enough to qualify for tomorrow's championship final as it was the fifth-fastest among the 16 swimmers during the evening session.

Earlier in the day, Wilson was eighth out of 49 swimmers, posting a preliminaries time of 2:11.15.

The top two finishers in Thursday's final will likely qualify for the Olympics and the race will be shown live on NBCSN (and on tape delay on NBC at 10:00 PM EDT). The 200m Breaststroke is scheduled to be the second event of the evening, following the men's 800 Freestyle Final which will lead off the broadcast at 8:00 PM EDT.
