Former Emory University swimmer Andrew Wilson concluded his individual Olympic competition program Tuesday in Tokyo, finishing 17th in the 200m Breaststroke.

Wilson turned in a preliminary time of 2:09.97 however he was not among the top 16 swimmers to advance to the semifinals. Wilson just missed the cut by .02 seconds, finishing behind Great Britain's Ross Murdoch (2:09.95) for the final qualifying spot. A total of 40 swimmers competed in Tuesday's prelims. Fellow American Nic Fink will represent the Red, White and Blue in the semifinals as he was fourth at 2:08.48.

Earlier this week, Wilson was among the final eight swimmers in the 100m Breaststroke, finishing in a tie for sixth with a finals time of 58.99.

Andrew’s time in Tokyo may not be finished though as he could be called upon to swim as part of the United States’ 4x100 Medley Relay team in the preliminaries on Friday, July 30. More information on that event will be shared once available.
