Emory Divers Compete at Tennessee Fall Invitational

Emory University sent a contingent of divers to the University of Tennessee to compete at its Fall Invitational on Thursday and Friday. Other schools sending divers to the meet included Tennessee, Alabama, Virginia and South Carolina.

Junior Lucas Bumgarner headlined the Eagles in attendance as he qualified for the finals in both events. Bumgarner secured 23 points for the Eagles as he finished seventh in the 3-meter with a score of 335.05 and was eighth in the 1-meter at 296.05. During the prelims of the 1-meter, Bumgarner tied for sixth with his a score of 299.10.

Sophomore Alex York added points for Emory at the meet, finishing 13th in the 3-meter at 209.50 and was 14th in the 1-meter at 213.50.

For the women, freshman Ariana Khan paced Emory in the 1-meter as she was highest scoring Eagle at 189.05, good for a 19th place finish. On Friday, sophomore Tess Klugherz topped all Emory performers as she placed 19th in the 3-meter event with a score of 206.65.

The Emory swimming and diving programs with return to the water the first week of December with the Denison and SCAD Invitationals.
