Senior Aman Manji came through with an outstanding effort at the ITA Oracle Cup in Surprise, Arizona.
Manji became just the second Eagle in program history to win the D-III Singles title in that portion of the event, registering wins over three foes. The No. 4-seeded Manji oepned with a 6-1, 3-6, 6-3 decision over Arthur Fagundes of UT-Tyler in the quarterfinals before coming away with a 6-2, 6-4, semifinal triumph against Michael Rozenvasser of Carnegie Mellon. In the championship battle, Manji claimed a 6-4, 3-6, 7-5, outcome over Lubomir Cuba of Middlebury.
His performance in the D-III portion of the competition sent him into the "Super Bowl" of the Oracle Cup where he lost a semifinal match to Jorge Martinez of Tyler Junior College (TX).
Manji closed out the fall portion of the schedule with a 9-1 singles record.
