2018 NCAA D-III Men's Tennis Championships Bracket

The No. 2-ranked Emory University men's tennis program has been selected as one of the 43 teams to participate in the 2018 NCAA Division III Championships.  The Eagles will host the opening three rounds of action that will be held this Friday through Sunday (May 11-13).   It marks the 29th consecutive year that Emory has advanced to the NCAA Tournament.  The Eagles of head coach John Browning enter this year's competition as the defending D-III national champions.

After receiving a first-round bye, Emory (16-4) begins action on Saturday, battling the winner of Friday's opening-round match between Washington and Lee University (12-6), winners of the Old Dominion Athletic Conference Championships, and Thomas More (13-3), who recently captured its second straight President's Athletic Conference crown.

The victor of the Emory vs. W&L/Thomas More affair moves into Sunday's third round to face either No. 19-ranked Sewanee (22-5), the Southern Athletic Association champ, or No. 23 North Carolina Wesleyan (18-3) who earned its berth to the postseason after claiming its 10th consecutive USA South championship.

Times for the matches will be officially announced on Tuesday.

Over the past 28 years the Eagles have advanced to at least the quarterfinals on 26 occasions. Emory has earned a spot in the national semifinals in 12 of the past 16 seasons has won national crowns in 2003, 2006, 2012, and 2017.

Emory is four of three University Athletic Association schools competing in this year's NCAA Tournament.  Conference schools who will be joining the Eagles include Washington University, Chicago and Carnegie Mellon.

Claremont- Mudd-Scripps will host the team championship finals, which will be held May 21-26 at The Biszantz Family Tenns Center in Claremont, California.

Emory last played the weekend of Apr. 26-28 when it finished runner-up the UAA Championships.  The Eagles bested Rochester (9-0) and No. 10 Washington University (5-4) in their first two matches before seeing No. 7 Chicago register a 7-2 decision in the finals.
