2019 NCAA D-III Tennis Championships Website

The Emory men's tennis program will have three competitors in this year's NCAA Singles and Doubles Championships, with seniors Jonathan Jemison and Adrien Bouchet competing in both singles and doubles while sophomore Hayden Cassone will compete in singles.  The NCAA D-III Singles and Doubles Championship will be held May 24-26, at Stowe Stadium in Kalamazoo, Michigan, and will be hosted by Kalamazoo College.

Jemison will be making his fourth appearance in the Singles Championships.  Last season he advanced to the Round of 8 in the 32-player field after winning his opening two matches.   The No. 3-ranked player in Division III and slotted No. 1 in the Atlantic South Region, Jemison has compiled an overall singles mark of 19-4 this year.  During the fall portion of the schedule, he won the ITA South Region Singles Championship for the second time.  Career-wise, Jemison, a three-time All-American, ranks fifth all-time at Emory with 92 singles wins.

Cassone, the No. 8-ranked player in the region, will be making his second straight appearance in the Singles Championships.  Last season, Cassone moved into the second round after claiming a win in his first-ever Singles Championship match. So far this year, Cassone has recorded a won-lost ledger of 14-7. He has won his last four outings, including all three of his matches at the University Athletic Association Championships.

Bouchet has enjoyed a fine final campaign, posting a singles slate of 20-3 overall which ties for the team lead in wins.  During the spring portion of the schedule, he has been victorious in 16 of 18 decisions (13-2 at the No. 3 position.  This will be the first time that Bouchet has played in the Singles Championships.

It is the first time since 2011 that Emory has sent three players to the NCAA Singles Championships (Dillon Pottish, Chris Goodwin and Colin Egan).

Jemison and Bouchet will team up in the doubles portion of the Championships, with the pair hammering out an impressive record of 24-3 this year (16-3 at No. 1 spot).  The Jemison/Bouchet tandem are riding a hot streak with wins in their last 10 matches.

The No. 3-ranked Eagles, 17-2 on the year, begin the team portion of the NCAA D-III Championships action on Friday (May 10) when they host Washington and Lee (15-7) in second-round action at the Woodruff PE Center Outdoor Courts in a scheduled 10:00 am start.
