Hayden Cassone Tabbed As ITA Atlantic South Region Senior Player Of The Year

Emory University's Hayden Cassone has been chosen by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) as the Atlantic South Region Men's Senior Player of the Year. The announcement was made Wednesday by the ITA.

Cassone held down the No. 1 post for the Eagles in both singles and doubles and helped the program to its sixth-ever national title.  He compiled four singles wins while fashioning a 12-3 ledger in doubles action including a 5-0 effort during the team's NCAA run.  An All-American in each of his four years, he drew the No. 8 seed in this past spring's NCAA D-III Singles Championships and won his opening two matches en route to advancing to the quarterfinals.  He and Antonio Mora took part in the NCAA Doubles Championship with the pair winning their opening match.

Career-wise, Cassone recorded a singles ledger of 50-27 and is 20th on the school's all-time chart with 67 doubles victories.

Cassone becomes the ninth Emory player to earn ITA Atlantic South Region Senior Player of the Year accolades, joining Brett Kaplan (2001), Mark Odgers (2005), Michael Goodwin (2009), Dillon Pottish (2012), Rafe Mosetick (2016), Aman Manji (2017), Scott Rubinstein (2018), and Jonathan Jemison (2019).
