Men's Tennis Coasts to 9-0 Home Win Over Rhodes

The Emory University men's tennis team won handily Saturday afternoon, defeating Rhodes University 9-0 at the Woodruff PE Center in Atlanta.

In doubles, senior Andrew Esses and sophomore Nolan Shah were 8-4 winners on court one. The Eagles coasted to two more wins on courts two and three as senior Antonio Mora and junior Samuel Dean earned an 8-1 decision on the second line and senior Sahil Raina and sophomore Ryan Glanville registered the 8-2 at the third spot.

In singles, Emory won all six matches in straight sets and did not drop more than two games in a set in any of the matches. Winning matches for the Eagles were Mora at one (6-2, 6-1), Esses at two (6-0, 6-0), Shah on court three (6-0, 6-1), sophomore Sujay Sharma at four (6-1, 6-1), sophomore Brandon Cohen at five (6-2, 6-1) and graduate student Santiago Suarez at the sixth position (6-0, 6-1).

Emory, now winners of four in a row, return to competition next weekend with a dual match against Pomona-Pitzer and the Stag-hen Invitational in Claremont, CA.
