Men's Track & Field Finish Fifth Overall at Emory Crossplex Invitational

The Emory University Men's Track & Field team hosted its annual Crossplex Invitational in Birmingham, Alabama on Sunday, finishing sixth overall with 59 points.

The Eagles scored of a bulk of their points in the Mile Run as five runners posted top-eight finishes. Senior Max Brown paced Emory with a second place finish, clocking in a time of 4:13.48. Freshman Jacob Hedgepeth (3rd, 4:24.19) and sophomore Samuel Branson (4th, 4:24.31) rounded out the top-four while senior Phil Edwards was sixth at 4:28.66 and sophomore Alex Campbell was right behind him in seventh at 4:28.79.

Adding points in individual events for the Eagles were senior Benjamin Rogin in the 60m Hurdles (6th, 8.39), freshman Jack Whetstone in the 5000m Run (6th, 15:51.38), Brown in the 800m Run (6th, 1:57.81), freshman Liam Fost in the 400m Dash (6th, 50.49) and freshman Matthew Dillon in the 3000m Run (8th, 8:52.55).

Rogin and Fost along with senior Robert Wilhelm III and sophomore Alex Rand placed fourth overall in the 4x400m Relay in a time of 3:26.67. And in the field events, junior Zachary Lembersky highlighted Emory performers, taking fifth in the weight throw with a distance of 14.27m while senior Charlie Hu was ninth in the Triple Jump with a mark of 13.06m.

The Eagles will back at the Birmingham Crossplex next Sunday, January 28th, as the team takes part in the KMS Invitational.
