Men's Track & Field Finish Fifth at Emory Classic

The Emory University Men's Track and Field team competed at its home classic this past weekend, finishing fifth at the two-day meet with 58 team points.

The Eagles were winners in one event over the two-day meet as the group of seniors Robert Wilhelm III, Max Brown and freshmen Thomas Perretta and Jacob Hedgepeth placed first in the 4x800m Relay on Friday evening, posting a time of 7:56.46.

Senior Charlie Hu highlighted the Emory field performers at the meet, finishing third and setting a new personal-best in the javelin at 52.19m, moving him into ninth place on the Emory all-time list in the event. Hu added a fifth place showing in the triple jump, posting a mark of 12.97m.

The Eagles turned in an additional five events to pace the team: Hedgepeth in the 1,500m Run (4:03.78), junior Zachary Lembersky in the hammer throw (43.65m), freshman Liam Fost in the 400m Dash (50.10), sophomore Mason Lewis in the 100m Dash (11.06) and the 4x400m Relay team consisting of Wilhelm, Fost and sophomores Aria Mohseni and Alex Rand (3:25.64).

Mohseni in the 400m Dash (50.26) and classmate Samuel Branson in the 1,500m Run (4:04.17) registered sixth place efforts with Perretta finishing seventh in the 800m Run with a time of 1:57.71 to round out the top individual performers for the Eagles.

The Eagles return to action next weekend with the Berry Field Day Invitational on April 6th and 7th.
