Emory Men's Track & Field Win Three Events; Finish Second at Mountain Laurel Invite

The Emory University Men's Track and Field team came in second with 152 team points on the strength of three event wins at the Mountain Laurel Invitational held Friday at Sewanee University.

Senior Phil Edwards and freshman Matthew Dillon captured individual wins for the Eagles on the evening. Edwards turned in a time of 8:54.62 to win the 3000m Run while Dillon posted a mark of 4:08.94 in the 1500m Run.

The Eagles added a win in the 4x400m Relay as sophomores Aria Mohseni, Alex Rand, senior Robert Wilhelm III and freshman Liam Fost recorded a winning time of 3:27.32.

In addition to the three event wins, Emory saw 10 top-three finishes in seven different events: Senior Charlie Hu in both the long jump (2nd, 6.42m) and high jump (2nd, 1.85m), Fost in the 400m Dash (2nd, 50.05), senior Jason McCartney (2nd, 2:01.01) in the 800m Run, sophomore Michael Battat in the long jump (3rd, 6.34m), sophomore Alex Campbell (2nd, 10:13.59) and freshman John Cox (3rd, 10:22.75) in the 3000m Steeplechase, freshman Jonathan Rosenfeld (2nd, 4:10.13) and sophomore Stephen Fedec (3rd, 4:11.73) in the 1500m Run and sophomore Andrew Kliewer in the 3000m Run (3rd, 9:08.02)

The Eagles will compete at Georgia Tech's Invitational next weekend in the final tune up before the UAA Outdoor Championships at Carnegie Mellon on April 28th and 29th.
