The Emory Men's and Women's Track & Field Programs will send a small sample of athletes to the University of South Carolina Open on Saturday (Feb. 22nd) in Columbia, SC. More than 100 teams will be on hand at the meet, which will not feature team scoring.

Of the 101 teams that will be in attendance, two programs have earned national rankings for both their men's and women's teams from the USTFCCCA. Division I North Carolina A&T has received a ranking of 14th for its men's squad, while the women slot in at No. 18. Out of the DII competition level, the Queens University of Charlotte boasts a 18th-ranked men's team and its women's team comes in as the 24th-ranked team in the country. Joining Emory in Columbia from the DIII level will be Berry, Oglethorpe, Piedmont, and Pfeiffer. In addition, a whole host of track clubs are set to participate as well.

The men's team will be enlisting the efforts of six Eagles on Saturday. Patrick Osborne (PV), Jacob Solomon (60m Dash, 200m Dash), Zion Kidd (60m Dash, 200m Dash), Lucas Werner (60m Hurdles), Graham Scott (60m Hurdles), and Jason Berger (800m Run) will represent Emory in South Carolina. Runners and pole vaulters from the women's team will include: Isabel Saridakis (PV), Ticia King (PV), Hope Jackson (SP), Grace Formichella (Mile, 800m Run), Lauren Cunlid (800m Run) Claire Evans (60m Hurdles), Sofia Beltran (60m Hurdles, 200m Dash), and Hannah Lansberry (400m Run).

The meet will start in the field at 9:00 a.m. with the Men's High Jump. On the track, the Men's 3000m Run will serve as the opening event. The Women's High Jump will cap off the day as the concluding field event at 5:00 p.m., and the finale on the track will be the Women's 4x400m Relay at 7:00 p.m.

The USC Open is the last tune-up opportunity before the UAA Indoor Championships for the Eagles, as Emory will head to the New York, NY next weekend (Feb. 29 – Mar. 1) to compete at the Armory Track.
