Senior Grant Murphy led the Emory men's cross country team at the Falcon Classic held on the campus of Montevallo University.

Murphy was the first Eagle to cross the finish line and 18th overall out of 136 runners, clocking an 8K time of 25:53, which represented his second-best career time. Murphy's effort helped Emory,  who rested a number of runners, to a sixth-place finish out of  13 teams.

Emory, ranked 33rd nationally in the D-III ranks, returns to action on October 1 when it competes at the Greater Louisville Classic.
