Sophomore Marty Pimentel helped the No. 21-ranked Emory men's cross country team to a first-place performance at the season-opening Georgia DIII Invitational hosted by Berry College.
Pimentel topped a 79-runner field, registering an 8k time of 26:57, which helped the Eagles pace the five-team field with 30 points.
It represented the first time in his brief career that he ranked as Emory's No. 1 runner in a meet.
