Junior Bennett Shaw helped the No. 21-ranked men's cross country team to a strong performance at the Furman Classic.

Shaw turned in a personal-best 8k time at the meet, with his 25:34 pacing the Emory pack and ranking 21st in the 175-runner field. It represented the second time in his career that he ranked as the Eagles' No. 1 runner.

Bennett's effort helped Emory record a fifth-place finish out of 14 teams at the Classic.
