The Emory men and women's cross country teams are headed to the NCAA III Cross Country Championships on Saturday, November 18.  This year's Championships will be held in Elsah, Illinois, with Principia College serving as the host institution. The men's 8K race is set to begin at 11:00 a.m. (CST), followed by the women's 6K competition at 12:15.

The women's team is making its 13th consecutive and 29th overall appearance at nationals. The Eagles enter the race ranked 22nd nationally as announced by the United States Track and Field Cross Country Coaches Association earlier this week.

The women's side is coming off a second-place finish at the NCAA South/Southeast Region Championships last weekend in Newport News, Virginia, trailing first-place finisher Trinity (Tex.) by just three points.  Senior Gabrielle Stravach crossed the finish line in the No. 1 position out of 240 entries, clocking a school-record 6K time of 20:59.

The men's squad holds down the No. 29 position in the USTFCCCA Poll and captured an at-large bid to nationals after a third-place effort at Regionals.  Senior Shane Sullivan was the top Emory performer, finishing eighth overall out of 222 runners with a personal-best 8K time of 24:37, which ranks as the program's fourth-fastest mark. The men are making the school's fifth straight and 21st trip to nationals.
