Emory University senior Spencer Moore was named the NCAA Division III Men's Cross Country National Athlete of the Week by USTFCCCA on Monday, September 12.
Moore becomes the first Emory student-athlete to be named the National Athlete of the Week during the cross country season following his individual title at the Jacksonville State Foothills Invitational on September 2. His individual win powered the Eagles to a team title as well while competing against a primarily NCAA Division I field.
Moore took first-place by 5.5 seconds over Auburn's Cooper Atkins, leading Emory to a narrow 34-35 team win over the Tigers. The individual title was the first in Moore's cross country career.
The cross country programs return to action this Friday with the Julius Johnson Invitational in Macon, GA.
