Men's Cross Country Finishes 21st at NCAA Championships

The Emory University men's cross country team closed out its 2022 season Saturday afternoon in Landing, Michigan, finishing 21st out of 32 schools at the NCAA Championships.

It marks the ninth straight appearance for the Eagles at the national meet and the third consecutive season Emory has finished inside the top-25. The Eagles saw two runners finish inside the top-100 and five inside the top-200 as Emory posted 506 points.

Senior Spencer Moore and graduate student Ethan Thompson paced the Eagles in the field of 292 runners with Moore leading the pack with his 54th place finish, clocking in at 25:45.8 while Thompson was 72nd at 25:56.4.

Senior Brett Lucas took 166th with his 8k time of 26:26.6 while junior Scott Masterson and senior Justin Pecore placed 180th and 186th, respectively, with their times of 26:30.6 and 26:33.0.

Senior Andrew Pahnke and sophomore David Evans rounded out the Eagles at the championship with Pahnke running a time of 27:16.4 to finish 258th and Evans posting a time of 27:35.8 to cross the finish line in 273rd.
