Sophomore Megan Light swung a big bat in helping the
Eagles’ softball team to four wins at the Emory Classic.
Light hit a blazing .692 (9-for-13) with seven RBIs (two game
winning RBIs) and five runs scored as Emory notched two wins apiece
over Lynchburg College and Millsaps. Light hit a dramatic two-run
homer in the bottom of the eighth that tied the game at 7-7 and
delivered the game-winning RBI the following inning as the Eagles
registered a 9-8 win in nine innings over Millsaps on Saturday,
finishing the contest with a 4-for-5 effort at the plate with 4
RBIs. On Sunday, she went 3-for-3 with three RBIs that
included her team-leading third homer of the year in the bottom of
the third that snapped a 1-1 tie in an eventual 8-1 win over
Millsaps. She also scored twice against the Majors as Emory
raised its record to 11-1 on the year.
