Megan Light

Megan Light hit .625 in helping Emory to three victories and boosting its win streak to 18 games at the Salute To the Troops Tournament hosted by Rhodes College. 

Light collected five hits in eight trips to the plate and knocked in a team-high 9 runs in helping Emory raise its overall record to 37-1.  Included in her totals were four homers that allowed her to move into first place on the school's all-time list with 27 round trippers.  She now has 11 homers on the year, tying the school's single-season mark, and her 49 RBIs this season are the second-highest mark at Emory. Career-wise, she has 149 RBIs, good for fourth place on the school's all-time ladder. 

In an 8-7 triumph over Rhodes in the first game on the weekend, Light went 3-for-3 with two homers and 3 RBIs.  She accounted for the team's first two runs with a two-run homer in the top of the first and added a solo blast that led off the top of the fifth.  She walked twice and handled all 11 chances at first base flawlessly.  She followed that performance with 1-2 performance at that plate with her hit a grand slam  in an 11-2 decision over Fontbonne University .  In addition, Light drew two more base on balls and scored twice.  In the finale on the weekend, a 7-4 verdict over Rhodes,  Light smashed a two-run homer her that accounted for her hit in three plate appearances and scored two more runs giving her six on the weekend.  Light was also issued a team-leading five walks over the three games.
