Senior Megan Light hit .500 and paced the team in a
variety of categories as the Eagles went 2-2 over a four-game
stretch.
Light collected a team-high tying seven hits in 14 trips to the
plate and topped the squad with seven runs scored, three home runs
and seven RBIs with Emory closing out the four games with an
overall record of 27-5. Light registered a double and homer in an
8-6 setback to Berry College in the first game of a twinbill before
posting a 2-for-2 effort with two RBIs in a 7-4 triumph in the
nightcap. Against No. 7 Virginia Wesleyan, Light picked up two
RBIs, including a solo homer, in the opener of a doubleheader, and
then sparked a 16-6 victory in the finale by scoring four runs, and
picking up two hits and two RBIs. One of her hits was her eighth
round tripper of the year.
Emory returns to action on Mar. 28 with a doubleheader at
Lynchburg College.
