Megan Light

Megan Light

Senior Megan Light played a key role in helping the No. 18 Emory softball team  to a doubleheader sweep at Birmingham Southern, both by 2-1 scores.

Light hit .571 over the two games, collecting four hits in seven trips to the plate.  She hit the team's lone home run and accounted for three of the team's four RBIs on the day.

In the opener, Light hit safely on three occasions and knocked in the team's first run of the contest with a single in the top of the fifth that gave Emory a 1-0 lead.  In the nightcap, her lone hit in three trips to the plate was a two-run homer that accounted for all of the team's scoring as Emory upped its overall record to 31-6.  Her round tripper came in the top of the fourth and was her 12th homer of the campaign, tying the school's single-season mark that she set last season.  It also extended her hitting streak to 13 games.
