Emory begins the weekend the owners of an overall record of 23-9, including a 9-3 ledger in league play.  The Eagles hosted and split a four-game series against New York University last weekend, splitting twinbills both days.  Emory captured the opening game on Friday by a 4-3 count in 10 innings before dropping a 5-2 verdict in the second contest.  The Violets began Saturday's action with a 5-2 triumph while the Eagles closed out the series with a 4-3 victory.

Emory is hitting .318 as a team (268-843), with that mark third among the league's six schools.  Senior outfielder Jenna Wilson paces the team and ranks fifth on the league chart with a hitting mark of .412, delivering a club-best 40 hits in 97 at-bats.  Wilson, checks into the CWRU series having hit safely in her last six games, and also tops the squad with 27 runs scored.  In addition, she has stolen 65 bases during her career and stands third on the school's all-time chart, just two shy of tying Cassie Walsh (2007-10) and Lauren Gorodetsky (2011-14) for the No. 1 spot.  Senior shortstop Cassie Baca sports a .381 (37-of-97) effort at the plate, good for second on the team and 14th in the league.  Baca has scored 26 runs, second on the club, and has delivered a squad-high 22 RBIs. Both Baca and Wilson pace the team with nine multi-hit contests. Junior Greta Wilker is the third member of the Eagles' attack to rank among the UAA's top 20 in hitting with her effort of .344 (21-of-61) slotting her 19th.  Wilker begins the weekend with a six-game hitting streak and is tied for third on the team with 21 RBIs.

In the pitching department, sophomore Madison Schaefer stands 10-3 with an ERA of 2.85 over 68 2/3 innings of work.  The senior duo of Toko Miller (7-2, 2.91 ERA) and Madeline Maday (6-3, 3.06 ERA) have combined for the team's other 13 wins.

Guided by ninth-year Head Coach Josie Henry, Case Western stands 18-10 in overall action, 5-5 in the UAA. The Spartans played on Wednesday and swept a doubleheader vs. Heidelberg College by 8-0 (6 inn.) and 9-4 scores.
