Emory senior Sarah Katz turned in a productive offensive afternoon in the Eagle's season-opening doubleheader against Birmingham Southern.
The second baseman hit .444 with four hits in nine trips to the plate, ending the twin bill by scoring three runs and posting four RBIs.
In an 8-4 opening game victory, Katz collected a pair of hits and scored two runs out of the leadoff spot. She opened the Eagles' bottom of the first with a two-bagger and later crossed the plate with the team's first run of the year. In the nightcap, she posted two more hits and drove in four runs, three coming on a dramatic double in the bottom of the seventh that allowed Emory to knot the score at 10-10 and sending it into extra innings.
Sarah now has 15 career multi-hit games to her credit and has driven in two more runs on 14 occasions.
