Emory Softball Garners Five All-UAA Honorees

The Emory University softball team placed five players on the 2020 All-University Athletic Association Team.

The Eagles saw a trio of seniors capture berths on the All-Association Team -- Sami Feller (Coral Springs, FL), Sarah Katz (Lake Charles, LA) and Greta Wilker (Belding, MI).  Rounding out the Emory representatives were sophomores Krista Colussi (Nazareth, PA) and Megan Weisenberg (Seminole, FL).

Feller played her way to a second straight all-league honor, finishing the year hitting .378 with 14 hits in 37 plate appearances.  A starter in all 12 Emory contests, 11 in the outfield, she registered five multi-hit games and wrapped up the campaign with a pair of home runs, eight RBIs and 12 runs scored.  Feller was named the conference's 2019 Co-Position of the Year.

A lynchpin of the Emory infield at her second base post, Katz pocketed her first All-UAA award after drawing starting assignments on 12 occasions and posting a .382 mark at the plate, delivering 13 safeties in 34 at-bats.  Named the UAA Player of the Week on Feb. 24, she compiled five multi-hit outings and crossed the plate a team-high 13 times, while drawing a team-high 11 walks.

Wilker held down the duties in left field, making all 12 of her starts at the position, and finished up hitting at a .390 clip, rapping out a team-leading 16 hits in 41 visits to the batter's box.  Wilker was a model of consistency, hitting safely in 11 games and coming through with two or more hits five times. She paced the club with 16 RBIs (six multi-RBI contests) and was second with five doubles.

Colussi, who made all 10 of her starts behind the plate, made significant offensive strides during her second season, hitting a team-high .440 (11-of-25) with six RBIs.  She totaled four multi-hit performances and finished with two doubles, one triple and one homer.

Weisenberg made 12 starts in the outfield and recorded a batting average of .352, collecting a dozen hits in 34 at-bats.  She chalked up two or more hits on three occasions and recorded four games with two or more RBIs, ending the season with a total of 10.  She led the team in both runs scored (15) and triples (3).

Emory closed out the abbreviated season with a record of 7-5.
