Junior Mattie Ryan helped the Emory softball team to a sweep of a doubleheader against Piedmont College. Over the two contests, Ryan posted a squad-high average .833 at the plate, collecting a team-high five hits in six at-bats. In addition, she scored a team-high three runs and paced the club in on-base percentage (.857).

In the opening game, an 8-1 Emory victory, Ryan hit safely in all three plate appearances and scored twice. In the finale, she went 2-for-3, scored a run and knocked in one run, that coming in the top of the sixth with a single that snapped a 1-1 tie and jump-started a three-run frame in an eventual 4-3 triumph.

After four games, Ryan is hitting a team-high .800 with 12 safeties in 15 plate appearances.
