Senior Madison Schaefer earned two wins in the circle as the Emory softball team posted a doubleheader sweep over Piedmont.

In the opener, an 8-1 Emory win, Schaefer tossed a masterful complete-game three-hitter, striking out seven while issuing just one walk. In addition, she retired the last 13 Lions she faced. In the second contest, a 4-3 Eagle victory, Schaefer pocketed the decision after coming on in relief of starter Natalie Swift and tossing five innings, allowing two runs and seven hits while fanning five.

All totaled, she registered an ERA of 1.75 over 12 innings of action, striking out a dozen while walking just two.
