Senior Madison Schaefer helped the Emory softball team to a doubleheader sweep of Huntingdon College on Apr. 7.

Schaefer picked up the wins in both contests, raising her season record to 5-0. She tossed a total of nine innings and did not surrender a run. She gave up just four hits and fanned a total of nine batters while issuing just one walk

In a five-inning, 8-0 win over the Hawks in the opener, Schaefer went the distance, allowing four hits while striking out five. In the nightcap, Schaefer pocketed the win, coming on in relief of starter Natalie Swift and tossing four innings of hitless ball, fanning four and allowing just one walk.

So far this year, Madison has crafted an ERA of 2.26 over 34 innings of work, striking out a total of 32 batters.
