Emory University junior Krista Colussi (Nazareth, PA) has been selected by the University Athletic Association as Softball Hitter of the Week for her performance in the Eagles' season opening doubleheader against Covenant College on March 11. It is the first time in her career that she has earned the honor.

Over the two contests, Colussi hit .857 with six hits in seven trips to the plate.  She tied for the team lead by scoring four runs and her .900 on-base percentage ranked first on the club. In a 15-4 opening-game win, she went 3-for-4 at the plate and crossed the plate three times.  In the nightcap, Colussi hit safely in all three plate appearances and drove in a run.

The Eagles, 1-1 on the year, have a scheduled doubleheader at Piedmont College this Saturday (Mar. 20) with the first game slated for a 3:00 pm start.
