Emory Women's Basketball Preps For Weekend At Guilford College

The Emory women's basketball team returns to action this Saturday and Sunday (Nov. 17-18) when it plays a pair of contests at the Guilford College Daly 7 Classic.  On Saturday, the Eagles will battle Virginia Wesleyan in a noon start before taking on host Guilford on Sunday in a 2:00 p.m. tip.  The Daly 7 Classic will be held at the Ragan-Brown Field House on the Guilford campus.

Head Coach Misha Jackson and her squad are looking to bounce back after coming out on the short end of a 71-64 overtime season-opening decision to Oglethorpe this past Monday. Senior Ashley Oldshue led the Emory effort with her 12th career double-double with team highs in both points (15) and rebounds (10). Senior Azzairia Jackson-Sherrod was next up on the scoresheet with 14 points and eight boards, while sophomore Blair Ripley and junior Allison Chernow added 12 and 11 points, respectively.

Virginia Wesleyan is looking to get into the win column after dropping its first two games of the year.  16th-year Head Coach Stephany Dunmyer and her Marlins' unit dropped a 53-28 verdict at Salisbury on Wednesday in their most recent outing.

Guilford College will take a 1-0 mark into a Saturday match-up against Greensboro.  The Quakers opened the 2018-19 campaign on successful note this past Saturday with a 62-57 home victory against Roanoke. The Quakers are led by 16th-year Head Coach Stephanie Flamini.
