Ashley Oldshue posted game highs with 22 points and nine rebounds in leading the Emory women's basketball team to a 67-45 Sunday afternoon win over Guilford College to close the Quakers' Daly 7 Classic. The Eagles, who led the entire game, improved to 2-1 while Guilford dropped to 1-2.

Oldshue ended the contest 10-of-14 from the floor and two-of-three from the stipe en route to producing her third double-figure scoring game of the young campaign. Senior Azzairia Jackson-Sherrod was the other Eagle to finish in double digits with 13 points while contributing seven boards and a game-high three blocked shots. Junior Lindsey Tse played a solid game at both ends of the floor, dishing out a season-high nine assists and coming up with a career-high six steals.

With Jackson-Sherrod scoring 10 points and Oldshue adding six, Emory raced to a 25-13 lead after the first quarter. The Eagles maintained their double-digit margin the whole second stanza, building a 16-point bulge at 35-19 with 2:22 on the clock following a pair of free throws by Allison Chernow. Emory would take a 37-24 lead into the break with Jackson-Sherrod chalking up 11 first-half points and Oldshue totaling nine.

Emory opened the third quarter on an 8-0 burst, with Oldshue scoring six points in that stretch, to bolt to a 21-point cushion, 45-24. A jumper by sophomore Blair Ripley gave the Eagles another 21-point lead, 47-26, with 4:16 remaining, eventually closing out the frame ahead by a 50-32 margin.  The Quakers drew to within 14 points early in the fourth quarter before the Eagles sealed the outcome with a 12-0 blitz over  a 5:20 stretch that ballooned their lead to 62-36. 

Emory ended the contest shooting 47.5 percent (29-of-61) from the floor compared to Guilford's 37.8 percent (17-of-45).  The Eagles recorded a hefty 40-22 edge in rebounding, 18-7 on the offensive end.

Oldshue was named MVP of the Classic while Lindsey Tse was tabbed to the all-tournament team.
