Emory's Allison Chernow continues to be recognized for her outstanding two-game performance at Transylvania University, as the junior guard  has been named the  U.S. Basketball Writers Association Division III National Women's Player of the Week for the week ending November 25.

The 5-foot-6 guard from Dresher, Pa., averaged 32 points, 6.5 rebounds. 4.5 assists, and 0.5 blocks per game as the Eagles (3-2) split their two contests last week. In a 90-87 double-overtime loss to host Transylvania at the Gratz Park Private Wealth Classic on Saturday, Chernow scored a career-high 39 points (second-highest in program history), including a school-record-tying and NCAA Division III-best nine three-pointers (9-of-11). She added five rebounds and five assists in the contest, while accumulating 22 of her points in the fourth quarter and overtimes. Then, against Denison on Sunday, Chernow totaled 25 points (11 in the fourth quarter), eight rebounds, four assists, and a steal in Emory's 69-57 victory. Overall, she shot 58.1 percent (18-of-31) from the field, 89.5 percent (17-of-19) from the free-throw line and 73.3 percent (11-of-15) from behind the arc. For her efforts, Chernow was also named the University Athletic Association (UAA) Athlete of the Week.

The U.S. Basketball Writers Association was formed in 1956 at the urging of then-NCAA Executive Director Walter Byers. With some 900 members worldwide, it is one of the most influential organizations in college basketball. It has selected an All-America team since the 1956-57 season.

Allison and her teammates are back in action on Tuesday (Nov. 27) evening when they host the Sewanee Tigers in a 6:00 pm tip
