Behind junior Erin Lindahl's season-high 18 points, the Emory women's basketball rolled to a Saturday evening win over Birmingham Southern.  The Eagles won for the fourth straight time and raised their record to 6-2 following a 69-31 decision over the Panthers who fell to 3-5.

Lindahl finished the contest six-of-13 from the floor, including two-of-four from beyond the arc, and converted all four of her free throw opportunities in notching her fourth double-figure scoring performance of the season.  Senior Ashley Oldshue registered her second double-double of the year (13^th of her career) with 13 points and 13 boards, while classmate Azzairia Jackson-Sherrod rounded out the team's double-digit scorers with 12 points, knocking down six field goals in 10 tries.

Emory surged to a 43-16 lead at halftime, hitting on 46.7 percent (14-of-30) of its field goal attempts compared to the Panthers' 20 percent (6-of-30).   Lindahl tallied 14 points over the opening two stanzas, while Jackson-Sherrod chipped in eight.  After building an 18-7 advantage after the opening 10 minutes, the Eagles held a 10-point cushion early in the second quarter before exploding for a 14-2 blitz over a 4:42 stretch, which saw Lindahl score the first eight points of that run, to claim a 34-12 lead with 3:34 left on the clock.  After a BSC bucket, Emory closed the half with a 9-2 run, with Lindahl scoring four points and junior Allison Chernow knocking down a triple.

The Panthers scored the first six points of the third quarter, but did not register a field goal over the last 8:32 of the frame while Emory saw six different players account for 13 straight points in ballooning its lead to 56-22 with just a shade over a minute left. The Panthers finally got on the board with 46 ticks on the clock following a pair of free throws.

Emory wound up the game limiting the Panthers to 19 percent (11-of-58) from the floor and holding the visitors to single digits in all four quarters. The Eagles connected on 38.7 percent (24-of-62) of their field goal tries and were a keen 88.9 percent (16-of-18) from the charity stripe.  Emory finished with a decided 53-30 bulge in rebounding with sophomore Blair Ripley complementing Oldshue in that department with a career-high tying nine caroms.  Junior Lindsey Tse doled out a career-high tying 11 assists, tying the seventh-highest individual game mark in program history, which allowed her to move into fourth place on the school's all-time ladder with 313.

Emory plays its final game before breaking for finals and the holidays on Tuesday (Dec. 11) when it welcomes Agnes Scott to the Woodruff PE Center for a 5:00 pm contest.
