Women's Basketball Earns Three Selections on All-Association Team

The University Athletic Association announced its 2020 All-Association Team Thursday afternoon with three Emory University women's basketball players being honored by the league's coaches.

Junior Blair Ripley was one of the seven All-UAA First Team selections while seniors Erin Lindahl and Allison Chernow were both tabbed to the Second Team for the second consecutive season.

Ripley's stellar junior campaign established herself as one of the premier low-post players in the conference, earning her the first All-Association honor of her career. Ripley finished the year as the Eagles leading scorer, tallying 11.7 points per game, good for 14th among conference leaders. A starter in 10 of the team's 25 games, Ripley totaled a team-best 15 double-figure scoring contests including a career-high 25 points in a win at Case Western Reserve in the second-to-last game of the year. Ripley ended the campaign eighth in the UAA with 6.6 rebounds per game and collected five double-doubles while grabbing a season-high 11 boards on four different occasions. In addition, the Oak Park, IL native was one of the top shot-blocking presences in the nation, ranking second in the UAA with 2.2 blocks per game and setting a new program single-season record with 56 rejections.

Lindahl earns her third consecutive All-UAA honor as she makes an appearance on the All-Association Second Team for the second year in a row. Lindahl drew starts in all but two of the team's 25 contests and ranked second among all Eagles with 25.6 minutes per game. She turned in 15 double-digit scoring performances, tying Ripley for the team lead, as she finished tied for second on the team with 11.0 PPG. Lindahl had a season-high 20 points in the team's road victory against NCAA-bound New York University on January 17th and on February 9th, she became the 11th member of the program's 1,000-point club with a 16-point performance against Washington University. Furthermore, Lindahl ended the year with 33 made three-pointers, second on the club, and was fourth in the conference with a 38.8-percentage from beyond the arc.

Chernow joins Lindahl on the Second Team as she garners her second career All-Association honor. The Dresher, PA native played in 24 of the team's 25 contests, making 20 starts and leading the Eagles with 27.7 minutes per contest. Chernow finished her senior season tied with Lindahl for second among the Eagles with 11.0 points per game. In 14 of her 24 games she suited up for, Chernow produced 10 or more points including three 20-plus scoring outings during UAA play and had a season-high 23 points in the team's overtime defeat at WashU on February 2nd. Chernow came in a tie for third on the squad with Lindahl at 4.2 rebounds per game, corralling a season-best 11 rebounds in the team's 52-39 win over Lynchburg on November 15.

The trio lifted the team to its second straight 19-win campaign as the Eagles concluded the 2019-20 season with a 19-6 record. Emory came in a tie for second place in the league standings, collecting 10 UAA wins for the second straight year, posting a 10-4 UAA mark.
