Emory Women's Golf Team Begins Spring Season With Linda Lowery Invitational

The Emory University Women's Golf Program will tee off in a spring tournament for the first time on Monday and Tuesday (Feb. 24-25), as the Eagles will play in the Linda Lowery Invitational hosted by Concordia University in Lakeway, Texas. The 36-hole competition will be staged at the 6,814-yard Yaupon Course that is a part of the Hills of Lakeway Country Club.

Emory will be one of five teams that will take part in the Linda Lowery Invitational. Southwestern, Mary Hardin-Baylor, Howard Payne, and host Concordia (Tex.) will all be on hand. Of those teams, only Emory and Southwestern received votes in the most recent edition of the Women's Golf Coaches Association Poll released Feb. 21st.

During the fall portion of the season, Ksheera Jalakam and Alice Acosta were the most active golfers, participating in eight rounds each. Jalakam averaged 79.6 strokes per outing, including four rounds under 80. Alice Acosta averaged 84.0 strokes in her eight rounds.

Competing for Emory in its spring opener will be Jalakam, Natalie Spitzer, Lillian Knetter, and Amisha Singh.

Following the Linda Lowery Invitational, the Eagles will focus on The Savannah Inviational at the Savannah Quarters Country Club, which is scheduled for Mar. 9th and 10th.
