Three Emory Women's Golfers Earn WGCA All-Scholar Honors

Three members of the 2019-20 Emory women's golf team have been selected to the Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) All-Scholar Team.

Earning spots on the All-Scholar Team were Alice Acosta (Suwanee, GA), Lillian Knetter (Madison, WI) and Natalie Spitzer (Chicago, IL).  The trio all concluded their freshman campaigns as members of the inaugural Emory women's golf program.

Acosta competed in five tournaments and ranked third on the team in scoring average with an effort of 84.3 strokes over 10 rounds of play.  Her best 18-hole outings were a pair of 81s that occurred at the NCAA DIII Fall Preview and the MCC Women's Intercollegiate.  A biology major with a minor in Japanese, Acosta sports a grade-point average of 3.91.

Knetter logged nine rounds of competition over five tournaments with her best 18-hole score an 81 that she carded during the second round of the Chick-fil-A Collegiate Invitational, where she finished 43rd out of 89 competitors. Knetter owns a GPA of 3.71.

Spitzer averaged 85.4 strokes over 10 rounds and posted a season-best score of 78 during the second round of the MCC Intercollegiate which helped her to a 29th-place finish in a 70-player field. She earned a spot with a 3.57 GPA.

To be eligible for selection to the All-American Scholar Team, a minimum grade-point-average of 3.50 is required.
