The Emory University women's golf team competed in the final round of the Jekyll Island Women's Collegiate on Sunday. The 54-hole tournament was played on the 5,801-yard, par-72 Indian Mound Course at the Jekyll Island Golf Club.

The Eagles posted a score of 336 over the final 18 holes of play and wound up tied with No. 10 Mary Hardin-Baylor for fifth place out of 16 teams with a mark of 976.  No. 2-ranked Methodist breezed to first place after compiling an effort of 925 (306-303--316), 26 shots better than runner-up and 25th-ranked Centre College. No. 4 Carnegie Mellon captured the the No. 3 spot at 953 while Christopher Newport's total of 967 was fourth.

Freshman Rebecca Schiffman was Emory's top shooter on Sunday, turning in an effort of 82.  Sophomore Ksheera Jalakam and rookie Mariana Chong were next up for the Eagles at 83 while sophomore Lillian Knetter closed out the scoring at 88.  Freshman Jessica Lan ended the day with a 90.

For the tournament, Schiffman distinguished herself in her initial collegiate tournament by pacing the squad and ranking eighth overall of of 82 players with a score of 237 (79-76-82). Jalakam tied for 19th after turning in a 245 (82-80-83) while Chong concluded her first collegiate action deadlocked for 26th (79-86-83--248).  Lan (79-81-90--250) and Knetter (90-84-88--262) were 30th and 52nd, respectively.

Jillian Drinkard of Methodist took home medalist honors after finishing at four-over par 220 (74-70-76).

Emory returns to action, Apr. 2-4, when it takes part in the Golfweek Invitational in Howie-in-the-Hills, Florida.
