Emory Women's Golf To Compete At Golfweek Invitational

The Emory University women's golf team resumes action this weekend (Apr. 2-4) when it competes at the Golfweek Invitational.  The 54-hole tournament will be played on the El Campeon Course at the Mission Inn Resort located in Howie-in-the-Hills, Florida.

Emory Head Coach Katie Futcher and her squad will be playing in their second event of the spring and look to continue the momentum after tying for fifth place out of 16 teams at the Jekyll Island Collegiate, Mar. 19-21.  Freshman Rebecca Schiffman made an auspicious collegiate debut by placing eighth out of 82 competitors with a three-round score of 237.  Sophomore Ksheera Jalakam was the next Eagle to appear on the leader board with her total of 245 tying for 19th place.

Among the teams slated to join Emory at the Golfweek Invitational include No. 2-ranked Methodist, No. 4 Carnegie Mellon, No. 16 Oglethorpe, No. 25 Centre, Christopher Newport, Huntingdon College and Berry College.  

Comprising the Emory contingent at the Invitational will be Schiffman, Jalakam, Jessica Lan, Mariana Chong and Shriya Agarwal.
